You Should Really Drink More Water
Hey Hue Family ,
Water is my absolutely favorite topic to discuss. They’re so many benefits from this marvelous beverage, I can hardly keep up. While I am not a doctor and I have no medical training under my belt , I want to offer a perspective of why we drink water, some healthy benefits + tips to more consistent water drinking.
If you are ever unsure of your health or the necessary steps to take, please consult your physician. The information I am providing today is just for educational purposes only.
Why do we drink water ?
We all know what water is , it’s the stuff our bodies are mostly made up of. It’s a tasteless, odorless, smell free beverage and most people prefer not to drink it. I get it, there’s no flavor so why indulge ? The notion of not drinking water has caused me to ponder why anyone wouldn’t want to consume something so essential and refreshing.
Water is a substance composed of hydrogen and oxygen. It can exist in liquid, solid and gaseous states. Our bodies use water to maintain the balance of body fluids. Ya know the adult human body is composed of approximately 60 percent water and your blood 90% ? If that’s the case you would think the majority would consume water more often. Often still, the idea around drinking water can possibly be connected to the mindset of completing the action at hand; drinking water consistently everyday in order to reap the benefits of water consumption.
Benefits of Water Consumption
- It delivers oxygen throughout the body
- It boosts skin health and beauty
- The digestive system depends on it
- The airways need it
- It boosts performance during exercise
How do you know if your body needs more water than you are consuming?
- Your Eyes Feel Dry
- Your urine is dark yellow or brown in color
- Your skin doesn’t bounce back
- Your muscles are cramping
- You have headaches or experience disorientation
- You feel tired, confused, or angry
- You have dry skin
- You aren’t sweating
- You experience constipation
- You lack energy
How often should you drink water ?
Water consumption should occur every single day. From what I have learned in my research, you should be consuming at least half of body weight in ounces of water. So if you weigh a 150 pounds then you should be consuming roughly 75 ounces of water daily or that’s the equivalent to 4.5 regular sized bottles of water.
Start a Healthy Habit
If you are struggling to pick up the water habit, my suggestion to you is to begin by trying to only drink your daily water requirement and no other liquids for 21 days.
Now Who is Thirsty ? - I have my bottle of water right beside me as I wrote this post.
